Everyone is welcome to join, as we plan community-wide events such as Our Community Salutes, Memorial Day, Veterans Day, POW/MIA Day and recognition/support of military families of all services. CMAC is an inclusive committee composed of civic education, veteran and business partners.

Presenter: Dr. John Briere, Professor of Psychiatry and Psychology at the University of Southern California, and Director of the USC Adolescent Trauma Training Center of the National Child Traumatic Stress Network. In his workshop Dr. Briere will detail some of the more common adversities and early traumas experienced by veterans and how they impact their war trauma experience and reintegration. He will detail the various psychological difficulties and symptoms that veterans experience and give examples of how they will look and play out when the veterans present for treatment. Dr. Briere will discuss some of the more effective approaches that are useful in assessing and treating complex traumas and share some examples of how these approaches can be utilized in treating veterans.
