Elktoberfest: Beers, Brats, and Bands
Join the B.P.O.E. Elks of Vancouver in celebrating their first-ever Elktoberfest. This event blends the tradition of German fare, with beer, brats, and bands.
Elktoberfest will take place on Friday and Saturday, September 27th and 28th, in the big back yard at the Elks Lodge.
Enjoy traditional German fare, music, local vendors, a sweet shop, and yard games, so be ready for tons of fun!
This new festival serves as a fundraiser for the Vancouver Elks Lodge and the multiple charities it supports. “Each year, the Vancouver Elks 823 raises thousands of dollars that
we ultimately donate to our charities,” says Traci Kezar, Elktoberfest and Public Relations Chairman, “including but not limited to Veteran’s weekly bingo, Christmas baskets and Christmas party for the needy, School Backpack Program, and the Children’s Therapy Program which aids therapists that care for the mentally and physically challenged children in Washington State, easing the emotional and financial burdens placed on families.”

6th Annual Heroes Night Celebration and Car Show
The Community Military Appreciation Committee (CMAC) presents our Sixth annual Southwest Washington “Heroes Night” celebration. Join us Saturday, June 22, 2019 at the East Vancouver Costco located at 19610 SE 1st St. (on the corner of SE 1st Street and 192nd Avenue). The event will kick off with a car show starting at 4:00 PM hosted by the NW Corvette Club, then continue inside Costco from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Like last year, we will have a vintage aircraft flyover kicking off the event.
Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about and meet local heroes from various veteran and active military organizations, firefighters, EMT’s, Police, the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, our Northwest “Battle Buddies” (trained service dogs), “War Horses with Warriors” with one or more of their therapeutic riding horses, and their veteran companions, to name a few.
There will be one night only specials, door prizes, kids’ activities, food and more. Plus, sponsors will be on hand giving out Costco Memberships to the community.
Everyone is welcome, no Costco Membership is needed to shop during the event!
A car show featuring both classic and modern cars, trucks and motorcycles, music along with food from Firehouse Subs will kick off at 4:00 pm. Some unique attendees will include vintage military vehicles and the 40 et 8’s “Loci” that is a regular in our community’s various parades.
Between 6-6:30 PM, three vintage aircraft (biplanes) will do a flyover to kick off the event.
See a 5 minute video clip of last years event here.
Car Show
This marks our third year giving out the “Bill Morehouse Community Service Award,” in honor of our beloved “Buffalo Soldiers.” This award honors first responders who go “above and beyond” in their selfless contributions to the nearly half million citizens of this region both on and off the job.
Proceeds from the event will benefit CMAC, which is an all-inclusive organization reflecting a diverse cross-section of our community focused on serving Gold Star Moms/Families, homeless vets, and those whose needs are not otherwise being met. CMAC includes youth, active/reserve military, and various veterans groups. CMAC also plans and executes community-wide events, such as Memorial Day, Veterans Day, “Our Community Salutes,” and POW/MIA Day ceremonies, as well as recognition/support of military families of all services. Learn more about CMAC at www.cmac11.com.
